My 200 hour yoga training with yoga works is a gift that I continue to carry forward in my life and share with all students that I teach. Catherine Monro is a gifted, wise and well rounded teacher. This training not only deepened my love of yoga, but opened my eyes to yoga's deep and rich phylosphy as well.

The Yogaworks teaching style and curriculum I participated in met my expectations in so many ways. I very much enjoy the way the flows are structured. The use of props, modifications and overall style of teaching is exactly what I was looking for when selecting this program. To me, the alignment based teaching style, attention to detail in cueing and vast variety of adjustments provided in each pose is excellent. It really is the perfect mix of dynamic flows, thoughtful breath work, and deep attention to alignment. As someone who has dealt with many injuries, this style of yoga was very inclusive and rehabilitating to me (physically and mentally). The topics covered were comprehensive and well tought out. The schedule was intense, but I knew that was what I signed up for/what I was expecting and it pushed me out of my comfort zone. I enjoyed how I was able to fully immerse myself into the experience, day in and day out, without daily life distractions. A suggestion for the training would be to have more hands on practice teaching time, as that is something that I personally needed the most help with in boosting my confidence as a first time teacher. We had many opportunities for practice teaching, but for my style of learning, I do wish there was more time given for that part. The knowledge and expertise of my instructors was beyond amazing and I appreciated that our class was on the smaller end. That gave it a more intimate learning experience. Our teachers were always supportive and approachable and I felt challenged by them. The lectures and asana workshops enhanced my level of understanding of what Yoga is as a new yoga teacher and immensely improved my personal practice and overall way of living. The teaching materials were helpful, however I will say that sometimes I felt like it was an overload of information for the little time that we had. Simplifying the course load would make it easier for me to understand, although overall I really enjoyed the way the program was structured. The location and facilities were beautiful (the yoga shala was a bright, spacious and airy room to spend our time learning in). I felt comfortable and well taken care of by my teachers and staff who worked on the property. The overall training was well organized and easy to follow. I felt included in the learning environment and I am beyond grateful to have fostered a sense of community during and after the training. The only hurdle i've had post training is finding a yoga position after the program. I do wish that I had access to a wider YogaWorks community in San Diego to start teaching in or working with. The program was a good value for what I got, but I do wish that there were more job opportunities through the program that I chose post graduation. Overall one of the best and most beneficial experiences of my life. I am excited for what is to come as this experience has opened up a world of endless possibilities for what I can accomplish. I would 100% recommend this program for new teachers looking to enhance their personal practice.
