OUR APPROACH IS SIMPLE: We bridge the gap between yoga and sport, empowering yoga professionals to confidently teach sports-specific yoga to athletes of all ages and abilities, from the everyday athlete to the elite. TEACHING GROUNDED IN YOGA BIOMECHANICS: We help prepare our students to work with people of any age and ability through our functional and biomechanical approach. We apply movement science to yoga sequencing. Our graduates are empowered to adapt their teaching to any setting. WE PROVE YOGA WORKS: For over a decade we have undertaken case study research and have the largest research database in the world on the efficacy of yoga in sport. LEARN WITH US ONLINE: We have been pioneers in online yoga education successfully teaching our yoga Courses online to students around the world for over a decade. Our Courses are inclusive and accessible to all types of learners through our well-established online learning platform.

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

Training with The Institute of Yoga Sports Science was so much more than I expected. As someone who is interested in teaching the benefits of yoga to everyday athletes (meaning everyday people, living everyday lives) I was hesitant at first about whether this was the right course for me. Immediately, when I started, I knew I made the right decision. The way that Hayley and the YSS team approach the teaching of yoga is from a scientific, biomechanics perspective that helps to build a strong foundation to understand the movement of the body. Once you understand the body from this approach, it becomes so much easier to apply the benefits of yoga to everyone, from everyday people to elite athletes. Biomechanics is as important to the study of yoga as fascia is to the body. Learning the language and the science of movement in this way has helped me to feel much more confident in how I approach my students. I feel I have the vocabulary that can be understood by people who may otherwise think that yoga is woo-woo or too spiritual. The Institute of Yoga Sports Science, Hayley and the whole team, are truly the experts in their field. Another thing to be aware of, it that they have been teaching online for over a decade! They really understand how to guide their students in the online space with so much support and ease. The online community is a huge support and the tutoring system and workshops work so well that it really feels like an elite learning experience. If you're skeptical about learning online, I would just say that you get what you put into it. If you show up to the community and engage in the program, you will really see that this a wonderful way to learn. It offers both flexibility and support to your lifestyle in a way that allows you to build it around your busy life. So much gratitude for this training in helping me to learn these game-changing techniques to support my yoga journey. Can't recommend enough.
