The 200-hour training enables seeking individuals to transform and grow in their practice – and to help others on their journey. It is a mentally, physically and emotionally challenging process designed to enable serious students to take their practice off the mat and into the world. You will practice asana, meditation, and pranayama to the point of proficiency and beyond. Your knowledge of yoga theory will deepen to the point that it becomes a core aspect of the fabric of your life -- and of everything you do and say as a yoga teacher. You will learn to teach classes that combine a consistent integrated vision with the inspired spontaneity that is the hallmark of Vinyasa Yoga. You will develop a thorough understanding of the elements of the principles of yoga and be able to design a class or teach a pose in such a manner that your students will immediately embody those principles.

Transform NOLA has been a Registered Yoga School since 2012. Each module weekend is on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday. Training takes place one weekend per month, usually starting on September and ending in April for a total of eight modules. Weekday trainings are also available with enough interest – they are held Monday through Thursday from 10am to 2pm.

Mia Oramous (E-RYT 500) facilitates the training and has extensive experience in Rolf Gates' teachings and teaching methods. She received her 200-hour training from Rolf in 2008; hosted and assisted a 200-hour training in 2010; completed a 300-hour training with him in 2011; and has led over a dozen teacher trainings at Transform NOLA since then.

Please note that Mia is taking a sabbatical and plans to lead teacher trainings again in 2024.

Reviews

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

Mia is a wonderful Yogi. Aware of the unique qualities of each student. Keeping the curricula and flow of the course moving forward and circling around in a way that ensured lessons with practice were understood, retained and transitioned into applicable teaching experiences. I whole heartedly recommend Mia’s Transform Nola Yoga program with blessings.

Mia brings her 20 years of yoga experience and knowledge to every class. She thoughtfully prepared for each training and brought her experience each time. I looked forward to every training weekend to what we would be learning.

This program was life changing for me. I feel like I have a very solid foundation for my practice and to teach others. This was completely worth my investment. I am extremely grateful that I chose this training.
