Synergy Yoga Studio, located in Richmond, Virginia, is accredited through Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga School (RYS), which designates our teacher training program as one which follows Yoga Alliance's standards.  Students who complete an approved training with us are eligible to register nationally with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYTs).

We are also an official affiliate of the Himalayan Institute, home of Yoga International, and as such, uphold the highest standards of yoga study and instruction in a warm, caring and non-competitive environment.

Our hallmark is classical Hatha yoga, the bedrock of practice from which all other yoga styles are sprung. We seek to blend the timeless wisdom of the ancient yogis with modern science and technology of the west, and offer an expansive number of classes designed to provide the proven benefits of Hatha yoga in the revered Himalayan tradition.

Synergy also offers an intensive Yin training for RYTs seeking a comprehensive understanding of this complementary yoga practice. The training provides 50 hours of Continuing Education (35 contact, 15 non-contact), and stems directly from training authored and designed by Bith Mithoefer and Master Paulie Zink, with whom our Director has studied. Available on a seasonal basis, and also provided as an add-on to our RYT-200 Hatha certification.

Synergy is also a center for the practice of Laughter Yoga, offering intensive workshops on a periodic basis. Our certified Laughter Yoga instructor is trained through Dr. Madan Kataria, the "Laughter Guru." Laughter Yoga is an aerobic exercise with proven physiological, psychological and emotional benefits. It is ideal for building community and promoting an individual sense of well-being.

At Synergy you can find time-honored, traditional, classical practice, as well as contemporary, engaging style. There is a place for you here....your yoga awaits you!

Reviews

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.
