About This Workshop

Would you like to learn how the basics of Sanskrit can bring a deeper connection to your yoga class? This workshop will look at key Sanskrit terms that will provide clarity on the principles behind asana, pranayama and other practices we find in modern yoga.

About the presenter

Chris Livanos, RYT 200, Ph.D., is a professor at the Center for South Asia at the University of Wisconsin, where he has taught since 2001. His university classes include subjects such as Sanskrit epic, Bhakti poetry, Comparative Religion, and Yoga Philosophy. He teaches at several yoga studios in the Madison area and regularly offers workshops on philosophy and asana practice.
