CE Workshop | Using Bhavana to Keep the Yoga in the Asana

November 9, 2016

Yoga Alliance believes every human being has the right to practice yoga free from abuse, harassment, and manipulation. We are saddened by public reports of misconduct by Jafar Alexander, with whom we have worked closely, and who is stepping away from teaching yoga. For transparency and accountability, we will not be deleting video workshop replays featuring Jafar at this time; instead, we will be listening to the thoughts of our members on this subject. A statement for deeper context can be found here.

About This Workshop

Bring yoga to life and transform your yoga class with the simple tool of Bhavana . Learn how Bhavana helps us move away from the performance of postures as a series of tasks to the embodiment of asana. Jafar will provide tools to implement Bhavana philosophy into your teachings so that it becomes an encompassing experience instead of another item on the to-do list.

About the Presenter

Jafar Alexander, E-RYT 500 and Director of Beloved Yoga’s RYS 200, weaves stories with sequencing and philosophical inquiry all in one asana. He brings yoga theory to life by encouraging practitioners to find space through movement, leading to freedom from attachment. His yoga practice and passion converge through a connected journey of self-awareness, conscious breath, and physical strength. Jafar co-leads the 500 & 800 hour Beloved Yoga Programs and teaches internationally: www.BelovedYoga.com
