Yoga Alliance Sponsors, Attends National Kid’s Yoga Conference in D.C.

October 9, 2014

Hosted by the George Washington University School of Public Health, event planners set out “to bring together like-minded individuals who wish to learn more about yoga, inclusive of all limbs and paths.” They established a goal to “form a community that will engage on the topics of yoga, mindfulness, meditation, nutrition, and overall well-being for kids and teens.”

Attendees came from a variety of backgrounds and included parents, educators, school administration, teachers and mental health workers.

More than 40 presenters addressed the crowd. Attendees could either follow an exclusive “track” (tools, business, research or schools) or select sessions from the tracks to attend individually. The conference also featured a special track designed especially for teens in attendance with presentations on self-esteem, body image and ways to bring yoga into daily life.

Yoga Alliance® hosted a booth at the event and served as one of the sponsors, offering free giveaways for those who stopped by to chat and learn more about our organization.
