Update for Alaska Yogis
Published: July 13, 2016
Since House Bill 305 was signed into law, Yoga Alliance® has continued work for you. We have asked the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE) to issue refunds to YTTs of the authorization fees that were paid under the outdated regulations. You can read a copy of our letter to the ACPE here. These fee refunds would mean a great deal to the small businesses that paid them.
The ACPE was collaborative throughout the legislative process, so we are hopeful that it will be supportive of our plea for refunds. We appreciate the ACPE’s thoughtful consideration of this request and will keep you posted as we learn more.
Pay It Forward!
Alaska is the sixth state where Yoga Alliance has successfully protected yoga from troublesome regulation in the past two years. We know future wins are not guaranteed and need your support. Please support our advocacy efforts with a financial contribution to pay if forward to other states whose yoga communities are at risk. With your help, we can ensure that onerous regulations will not harm thriving yoga communities.
