Yoga Alliance Confirms Refunds from the SBPCE for Arkansas YTTs

Last month, the Arkansas state legislature enacted an important law that exempts yoga teacher training programs (YTTs) from unnecessary and onerous government regulation. Yoga Alliance, with grassroots support from many members of the Arkansas yoga community, strongly supported the passage of this critical law and we are very proud of this important achievement.

In recent days, Yoga Alliance representatives have been in contact with the State Board of Private Career Education (SBPCE) – the entity that attempted to impose further regulation on YTTs – to ensure that it rescinds its regulation of YTTs and completely refunds any fees submitted by YTTs.

We received confirmation earlier this week that SBPCE will issue letters to all YTTs that it previously contacted about licensing requirements, confirm that YTTs are no longer subject to SBPCE’s requirements, return all submitted application materials, and completely refund any fees paid by YTTs. We expect these actions to take place in the next few days.
