The Yoga Alliance Ethical Commitment came in response to membership asking for greater clarity on how to best welcome all who wish to practice yoga. Its three-pronged approach asks members to review and understand all Yoga Alliance policies and abide by an updated Code of Conduct, a new Scope of Practice, and a shared awareness of and responsibility to equity in yoga.
Based on feedback from membership and the broader yoga community, Yoga Alliance launched new standards for its RYS 200 credential as well as a strengthened application and review process for all new RYS applicants. These enhanced standards now include the implementation of a strengthened RYS application process, which will provide for greater shared accountability to meet or exceed the new standards.
